Joy Glasspool

Horses and dogs have always been Joy's main source of inspiration.

Located in the heart of the New Forest, she is completely at one with her subjects.

Joy has been a professional artist working in pastel, pencil and enamel for 25 years.

For many years Joy has been closely associated with Crummles & Co where she specialised in the design and execution of hand painted miniatures.

Her talent in this field resulted in a specially designed miniature for the Queen Mother's 100th birthday.

Joy has also designed and painted commissions for one of the country's leading jewellers.

Pippa Thew

Kenya is a magical place to grow up and that is where Pippa Thew was lucky enough to spend her childhood.

Both her parents were making their own way in that country flying light aircraft in the 50’s and 60’s. Her mother also ran a horse trekking establishment.

From these early years it gradually became clear that her future lay as an artist, perhaps following in the family tradition, since her uncle was a member of the Royal Academy and painted miniatures of the good and great of India.

Working in watercolour and following her own interests in dogs and wildlife, she made these her main subjects.

More recently, following an invitation to stay with friends on Exmoor, a new phase of her career began. The friends were “beater” and “picker up” on the Chargot shoot and with kind permission of the estate owner she began to undertake commissions of the Guns themselves. She was able to offer a unique painting, which completed the shooting experience, and the Guns could hang on their wall an artwork of themselves on their favourite drive. Several of Pippa’s Sporting Originals now hang at “James Purdey & Sons Ltd” in Mayfair.

She now also produces Limited Edition Sporting prints. Only a very limited number of signed giclee prints are offered of each along with a Certificate of Authentication. This enables Pippa to maintain the uniqueness of her work whilst building up a portfolio of collectable sporting art.
